I have contracted Daniel Woods Building on two separate occasions, to undertake renovation work on my family home in Port Macquarie. The overall scope of work resulted in significant alterations to the property, with the most recent work occurring between December 2023 and April 2024. On each occasion of his employ, | have been completely satisfied with the quality of work presented, the engaging nature of Mr Woods and his staff, and the advice and recommendations provided on all facets of the renovation.
Mr Woods presents as highly professional yet is personable and engaging in his demeanour. Always willing to give time to hear ideas, answer questions and propose alternate approaches to achieve the desired outcome, he is eminently flexible and responsive to the client’s needs; nothing is too much trouble. On occasion where changes to the original plan were required, either because of my request or to ensure building code requirements were met, he was quick to respond in a highly skilled, practical and sensible manner, to provide an optimal solution.
Always mindful of cost implications, Mr Woods prudent approach to the acquisition of building materials in balance with the desired quality of outcome ensured maximum return on investment and highest quality of outcome. With ready access to a wide variety of specialists in the building trades, Mr Woods engagement and coordination of these respective trades ensured a highly professional, timely and qualitative outcome to all work.
Equally, Daniel Woods Building staff are highly proficient, responsive, respectful and polite. Self-starters, they presented always on time, and could be relied upon to undertake their work without supervision, to the highest standards. Their engaging natures ensured they were a pleasure to have at our home, and the care and respect with which they went about their tasks was readily apparent in the assistance they provided to me, on tasks that were outside of their responsibility.
I have no hesitation in highly recommending Daniel Woods Building.

To whom it may concern,
We have had the gratification of Daniel Woods Building and Construction accomplish renovations and extensions on our implausible home in December 2020. After speaking with other builders and members of our local area we received high admiration about Daniel Wood and his trades. We employed Daniel as our builder and on no account have we regretted our decision.
Our experience with Daniel and his team was nothing but professional, pleasurable and completed with the greatest of competence. Our home was built in the precise timeframe we expected, our circumstances only allowed a short period of time for the build. This was an imperative agreement as we would have been left with nowhere to live. Daniel guaranteed us prior to and during the build he would complete our home within our timeframe, Not only was this achieved but with days to spare. Daniel not only has remarkable attention to detail but exceeded our expectations to ensure our home was structurally built. My husband was a concreter for 25 years and couldn’t believe how meticulous Daniel was with preparing the groundwork for the foundations to be laid to the newly extended area. Daniel presented our home immaculate after each day of construction and arrived daily before his contracted time.
Daniel’s time management skills were impeccable and his organisational skills were flawless, materials were onsite in a timely manner and ordered to perfection in quantities. Daniel assisted us through our building journey with ideas and resolutions to issues we unexpectedly encountered. Daniel ensured we were involved with everyday proceedings and made our building experience such a pleasure, nothing was a problem and Daniel accommodated many of our final moment changes with enthusiasm. Daniel guided us through the designing concepts and we shared many conversations and laughs together. Daniel is a very respected business person in the building industry, whenever we would mention his name to other trades or wholesale business’s we continuously heard “You’re in good hands with Dan” and how Daniel is an astounding builder.
We recommend Daniel and his team to anyone we can, we have the most picturesque home that we are so extremely proud of thanks to Daniel and his dedicated team.
We are forever indebted for this amazing man and his aptitudes. Daniel not only was our builder but has continued to be a great friend, Daniel often calls us to see how the house is going and if there is anything he needs to do for us. We have a lot of people observe the excellence of the build and query who we utilised. We happily tell them. We feel very fortunate to have had Daniel Woods Building and Renovations construct our forever home.

From our first meeting with Dan and his positive feedback, with recommendations from past clients and viewing his completed work, we knew we had the right builder to build/renovate our beachfront dreamhouse. Dans professionalism, passion, advice and his in-depth knowledge of council regulations and all building codes in the planning and design of our renovation confirmed we were in good hands.
After attaining the appropriate white card to work on a building site, I was on site everyday with Dan and his team. From day 1, the demolition right through to the completed build. I had a first hand look at how a building site worked and was witness to a master builder plying his trade. Dans preplanning, organising and time management skills shone through and true to his word we were back in our house before his quoted finish date.
The attention to detail of Dans team of builders, carpenters and contractors were top class. Dan led by example and everything ran like a well oiled machine. Which promoted camaraderie/mateship which made for a very enjoyable worksite experience.
Having worked with Dan Woods Building from the design/planning stage right through to the completed build Wendy and I found Dan to be of the highest integrity, genuine, honest, showed a great deal of compassion and thoughtfulness for his clients, and overall a great builder/tradesman. With Dans attention detail the finished renovation exceeded all our expectations We have been back in our house now for 2 years and we have had no problems with any part of our renovations.

We first met Dan Woods by chance when he, as a customer, came into our Rural Store. Unbeknown to us at that time we had just connected with the best builder that we could ever have hoped for. We asked Dan if he was interested in looking at the extensive renovation that we were about to embark upon. Fortunately for us he said yes. From the very first onsite meeting we knew that we were in good hands.
Our home was a 47-year-old split level brick and tiled roof home with loads of old fashioned external arches and lots of odd pokey internal areas situated on an 1800smq block overlooking the beautiful Hastings River. Unfortunately, the original design did not take advantage of the stunning surroundings and views that were available. Dan worked with us from the very beginning helping us with our plans and even meeting with our architect on several occasions until we came up with the final plan which would turn our old home into a stunning Hampton inspired home with expansive open floor plan and extensive views of that beautiful Hastings River. During this time and throughout the entire process absolutely nothing was a problem to him. Dan made himself available to us at any time and was happy to receive our questions, requests and suggestions as well as providing us with his advice, knowledge and extensive expertise.
Being an older home there were many issues uncovered as the build progressed. Every issue was immediately communicated to us, and after discussion handled in the most appropriate and cost effective manner. Always achieving the best outcome. Throughout the build Dan’s communication was beyond expectation. As we weren’t living on site, Dan would keep us updated with phone calls, photos and videos of any major happenings which was awesome.
Dan’s crew are the most obliging, respectful and hardworking guys that you could hope to have working on your project. We even received text messages from neighbours saying, “Your builders are amazing and are the hardest working trades that we have seen in a very long time.”
Dan has an expectation to deliver nothing less than perfect, his level of skill and acute eye for detail are amazing and his morals and work ethics outstanding, all of which deliver a quality of work second to none. I have often heard it said that one very important factor in any build or renovation is to have a good relationship with your builder. We can honestly say that we could not have asked for more.
We absolutely love our new home. Thank you, Dan, for transforming it into what it is, and thank you for what has truly been an exciting and enjoyable experience. We say with all sincerity if you are looking for a builder for a new build or renovation you need to talk to Dan from Dan Woods Building and Renovations. We can say from experience, you will not be disappointed.

In 2016, after a strong recommendation from a friend, we engaged Daniel (Dan) Wood and his team to undertake a major renovation on our home at Grandview Parade, Port Macquarie. We were living in a section of the house at the time and therefore could observe closely the manner in which the work was conducted and how the inevitable issues that arise with any renovation of an older house were resolved.
During the process we were continually impressed with the competency and professionalism with which Dan conducted himself and managed the team. He communicated regularly on the progress of the build, was open and honest about costs and any extras and was extremely patient with any changes we requested along the way.
However, what we were most impressed with was his project management skills and the quality of the workmanship. Materials and tradesmen were on site when required thereby preventing delays and the work was completed to a very high standard.
It has been five years since the completion of our work. We have never required Dan to return to fix any issues and the house looks as good today as when the work was completed. We have highly recommended Dan to friends and acquaintances and have engaged him for additional projects ourselves. He is very obliging and nothing is too much trouble.

In April 2019 we employed Dan & his team to renovate our bathroom, this renovation took 3 weeks to complete. The finished product was perfection & during the renovation Dan & his team were excellent to work with & Dan kept me informed as to what was going on at all times.
In May 2019 we employed Dan & his team once again to build an extension onto our home, this renovation took approximately 3 months. Once again the communication from Dan was excellent, I always knew what was happening from day to day. Dan & his team were always very easy to get along with & very respectful of us & our privacy.
The workmanship from Dan & his team was absolute perfection once again & was completed on time. We have had quite a few people compliment on how fantastic our extension looks. We always found Dan to be very level headed, calm & open to our ideas for the extension. In the 2.5 years that we have had both renovations done we have not had to call Dan for any defects & when the council came around for the final inspection he even commented on how well the extension was built, a great testament to Dan & his team. We would have highly recommended Dan & his team. I would like to mention that one day while the bathroom renovation was in progress that Anne Geoghan came to our place to pay the tiler & she commented to me how lucky we were to have Dan as our builder. Anne also mentioned that she was very happy with her renovation that Dan & his team had done at her house.

I'm pleased to recommend Daniel Wood and Paul Randall as builders. They completed our build in December 2020. I found them to be very organised, very thorough and they always communicated well both with each other, other trades and with me as a client.
I found they handled a complex build well and expected a very high standard from their subcontractors. They always put their client above their subcontractors to ensure the best outcome.

My name is Susan East of Lake Cathie and I have personally known Daniel Woods for over 10 years through a mutual friend, and I’ve seen many building projects that he has completed in this local area.
I have worked in the manufacturing and building industry for almost 50 years. My business was situated in 5 states of Australia and employed over 600 Engineers, Projects Managers, supervisors and tradespeople to Government Departments and blue chip organisations like BHP, United KG, Bombardier, British Aerospace (in Australia), Yarra Trams, and was a second tier suppliers to the Sydney Olympic Games.
I know a quality tradesperson when I see their workmanship, and Daniel and his trades were top quality.
Daniel Woods completed a project at my home in 2018 which took approximately 5 months. The project included a complete renovation of the property that was gutted and replaced with only the outside shell and roof remining intact. The property was a 1970s seaside shack. It has been commented to me that it is the nicest house in Lake Cathie, as it is unique. (Thanks to Daniel).
This included (but not limited to), the replacing of many internal walls and replacing gyprock and insulation to walls and ceiling. Installing 2 large internal beams for the open plan kitchen, lounge and dining area. Renovating an old bathroom and turning an existing bedroom into a new bathroom. The floorboards were replaced from the front to the back of the property.
Replacing all plumbing and electrical with new components and building a new garage with bedroom and office over the garage, and making it all fit within some existing, already renovated areas of the home and roofline.
Daniel had over 5 carpenters working on the site subcontracting directly to him and they showed absolute respect to Daniel and his ability to direct them through this project. He had on call; all the various trades required for the completion of the project and the level of professionalism from all the tradespeople was first class. They all held Daniel in high esteem. I visited the site every day and talked to Daniel and the tradespeople, so over the period of 5 months so I got to know them quite well
I have recommended Daniel to numerous friends and many people that stopped to ask for his details after the project was completed. My son is a builder in Sydney and would have loved to complete this project, but due to work commitments he declined doing the project for me, but when he came to visit after the completion of the project he said there was not one thing that he would have done differently.
He said that Daniel’s workmanship was first class and he was very impressed with the level of the finished project. I recommended Daniel to a good friend of mine who was doing a similar project to mine, although they had intended to use a different builder, they decided to use Daniel when they saw just how finessed my home was. This project took similar time frame to my project, but the house they were renovating was an old family friends original home, which I had frequented from my earliest days so I knew the house very well and watched it being built back in the early 70’s. My old friends (who no longer own this property) could not believe the change in the home when I sent them photos of the completed renovation. Daniel’s workmanship was amazing. Once again, Daniel completed this renovation to the highest of standards.
If I had any other projects that I wanted to complete on my investment properties I would use Daniel without hesitation. I would highly recommend Daniel Woods to anyone looking for a building company that had the client’s best interest at heart, and who wouldn’t hesitate to make sure the project was completed to the upmost of high standards.
